Description Strikingly beautiful medium-to large briliant violet purple circular fruits which ripen mid to late August. This is a hardy and productive tree thaty is partially self pollinated and also accepts pollen from most other varieties. The fruits are unsuited to dessert use but when cooked become juicy and richly flavoured. Suitable for all culinary purporses. An interesting old and rare variety, raised in Hertfordshire in 1887 no less.
